Working on behalf of Thirteen Group, the £600,000 plans have seen the flats at Penrith Road in Middlesbrough benefit from new kitchens and bathrooms. The communal areas have been fully refurbished, new windows, doors and flooring fitted throughout, an electrical re-wire and fire system upgrade.
The service, which has been provided for 25 years, offers accommodation for young people and families at what can be a very difficult time in their lives.
Project manager at Thirteen Group, Stuart Poulter said: “We’ve worked closely with the team at Penrith Road and our customers from the start of the project, where they had an opportunity to choose their kitchen, bathroom and options for the communal room.
“Whether it is accommodation like this at Penrith Road, which is a temporary home, or a home people live in for many years, it is vital that we continue to invest and maintain these properties.”
Penrith Road provides offers 12 two-bedroom and two three-bedroom flats with access to a communal area, laundry facilities and outside play area. A crash pad is also available for homeless 16-17 year olds for a maximum stay of four weeks.
Staff members are available 24 hours per day. The service provided helps residents to move on to full independence, giving them the skills to successfully manage their future permanent tenancy.
It’s great to have worked alongside Thirteen Group on this brilliant scheme which is a fantastic investment for the area. Esh Living carried out refurbishment works to properties including new kitchens and bathrooms as well as other associated works to the building making it more modern for residents.’’
