Students in the North East will have a clear route to technical employment with the launch of the region’s new Institute of Technology, led by further education college, New College Durham. Esh Group has pledged its support as the construction-lead, working in partnership with Nissan and Newcastle University alongside a group of local employers to support the Institute of Technology.
The Institute is one of only 12 across the country and will deliver quality higher-level technical training in subjects such as digital, advanced manufacturing and engineering. Learning will take place across the partnership’s campuses and will focus on the specific technical skills required to provide employers with the skilled workforce they need.
Further education and private training providers also collaborating in the North East Institute of Technology are Sunderland College, Tyne Coast College, East Durham College, Middlesbrough College, and NA College Trust.
