CIS Building
Crowned as Newcastle’s Best New Building at the Lord Mayor’s Design Awards, the Computer and Information Sciences (CIS) Building is a world leading research and teaching facility. CIS Building forms an extension to the existing Ellison Building which was refurbished, and a new glazed link and bridge constructed through the gable wall. The design of the CIS building offers open plan teaching environments and a flexible floor plan, including moveable acoustic walls to allow different configurations for changing cohort sizes.

Ravenscliffe High School
Based on the site of Ravenscliffe High School and Sports College, a two-storey U-shaped sixth form facility was constructed for pupils with Special Educational Needs. External works included all associated hard and soft landscaping.

Evenwood Refurbishment Works
Delivered for Thirteen Group, Esh completed external and internal refurbishment works across 29 properties in Bishop Auckland. External works included re-roofing, rendering, window and door installation, fencing and boundary wall replacement, while internal works comprised of kitchen and bathroom replacement.

The Tetley Headquarters
The scheme comprised the refurbishment of the ground, first and second floor, providing new gallery areas, restaurant, bar and kitchen area. Works included new internal and external entrances, removal of interior walls, electrical upgrades and lift installation.

An 80,000ft2 steel portal warehouse shell was constructed and encompassing office accommodation, welfare facilities, 100-space car and HGV park. All external hard and soft landscaping works were completed, as well as necessary flood alleviation works.

Laburnum Court, Magnolia Court & Ewbank Community Centre
Delivered in partnership with Thirteen Group, 24 flats in Laburnum and Magnolia Court received new kitchens, bathrooms with level access showers, doors, heating systems, a full electrical upgrade and decoration throughout. Ewbank Gardens, the onsite community centre, received a full makeover as part of the project, including roof improvements, a new, modern kitchen, bathroom suites, doors, a full heating upgrade and modern décor. Externally, the gardens were landscaped to provide a relaxing environment for residents to enjoy together.

Highfield Road
Highfield Road in Askern is a land led development which was brought forward by Esh Construction in partnership with Together Housing Group and Housing 21. Two bungalows and a three-storey retirement living scheme containing 58 apartments have been constructed on behalf of Housing 21. While 56 two, three and four-bedroom homes, and 10 two-bedroom bungalows, were built for Together Housing.

Northshore Innovation Centre
A three-storey 36,000ft2 Innovation Centre was constructed to includes meeting rooms, offices, conference suites and a reception area. Works were undertaken externally to create a new roundabout, access road and car park.

Lionheart Community Fire Station
An existing council depot was modified, and a new building was constructed for the Fire Station. The station combines three different blocks which includes housing accommodation, appliance bays, office, gym, command centre and reception.

Community Fire Station
Located within the grounds of Hexham General Hospital, an extension was constructed on a former hospital building to create a new Fire Station. The facility accommodates two fire appliances, a Swift Water Rescue Unit, three-storey training tower and training yard.

Harbour Masters Office
Located next to the Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge, work was undertaken to refurbish and remodel a former Marine Fire Station. Internal and external works transformed the building into new office accommodation together with a new Harbour Masters Vessel Traffic Service facility.

Victoria Building
Teesside University’s Victoria Building underwent internal refurbishment and external repair works to create an enhanced business hub. Formerly used as a school when constructed in 1892, the project was commissioned to restore the buildings heritage features and create an industrial-looking and open-plan space. Removal of the suspended ceilings revealed the original windows, and the original parquet flooring and wall tiling were revived. Externally, a steeplejack restored the roof and chimney in line with the building’s Grade II listed status.
